SUMMARY:Normative Leadership: The “HOW TO” Science of Culture Change (in-person) (Wexford)
DESCRIPTION:This is an in-person workshop. (Wexford location) \n \nThe workplace of today presents those in leadership positions with many challenges. When asked\, “what are some of the problems you face daily in your work place\,” some of the answers that participants who have attended this program have given include: \n \n \ntechnology distractions\n \ngetting all employees on the same page\n \na lack of initiative/accountability\n \npoor cooperation/communications between departments\n \nhiring/retaining staff\n \ndealing with difficult employees\n \nmanagers in power struggles with one another\n\n \nThese issues are just symptoms of the real problem that must be identified and fixed — that being\, the group norms (expected behaviors) that are behind these symptoms. So\, if you are experiencing any of the above issues\, and want to learn “how to” skills for being more effective in managing the norms within your organizational culture\, this workshop is for you. \n \nRecently participants gave a rating of 9.6 out of 10 when asked: “How likely are you to recommend this PASBDC program to a friend of colleague”. \n \nThe Normative Leadership program is ideal for new or seasoned supervisors\, managers\, administrators\, coaches — anyone in a leadership position\, or aspiring to be a leader. The focus of the program is the organizational culture and how group norms (expected behaviors) have an impact on variables such as: teamwork\, communications\, accountability\, employee performance\, profitability\, customer service\, etc. It is the culture that can make\, or break\, your organization\, and a leader who doesn’t understand how to create and manage the organizational culture will be enslaved by it rather than be its architect \n \nThe concepts\, system\, and skills you will learn in this series can be universally applied to any field. They are timeless\, and will never go out of style. They will enable you to be more competent and confident when dealing with both group and individual behavior. Ultimately\, they will serve as an invaluable resource for you throughout your personal and professional life\, and distinguish you as — a leader who can get things done.  \n \nNormative Leadership Series Schedule: (1 Day) \n \nMorning Session: Introduction to Normative Cultures (9:00 -12:00) Topics/skills participants will learn: \n \n \nThe ability to understand and “read” the dynamics of the (your) organizational culture.\n \nHow to set the behavioral parameters for the group.\n \nHow to use the Force Field and Polsky Diamond to gain control of the culture.\n \nHow to use the Strategies for Change in defining the normative infrastructure for your group.\n\n \nLunch break: (12:00 – 1:00) Video tape role play — In preparation for the afternoon session\, two volunteers will be selected to participate in a pre-training\, 5-7 minute 1-1video tape role play to give the participants insight into their current 1-1 style. Once the afternoon session is completed\, the participants will have the option of completing a follow up role play\, this time\, using the skills they learned. Both (before and after) videos will be copied to a DVD\, and sent to each participant so they can measure the growth in their 1-1 facilitation style. \n \nAfternoon Session: Leadership Management (1:00 – 4:00) Topics/skills participants will learn: \n \n \nUnderstanding individual behavior\n \nLeadership Styles and their impact upon the organizational culture.\n \nHow to Facilitate a 1-1 meeting.\n \nVideo tape reviews/Skills development: 1-1 Role plays/Follow up “game plan.\n\n \nSome testimonials from past attendees: \n \n \nOne of the most beneficial classes I’ve attend. The information can be utilized on a daily basis.\n \nRod was a great teacher.  He was very clear. I was able to understand with so little time he gave us a lot of great tips. I would love to come back.\n \nI found everything to be very useful and I will be able to use what I’ve learned.\n \nGreat\, comprehensive training.\n\n \nRegister today! \n Speaker: Rod Hess\, President of Applied Organizational Concepts\, Inc.
