  • Purpose: Warm welcome, acknowledgment of sponsors, introductions of speakers, and the agenda

 

5:00 PM – 5:30 PM: Rule of the Road – Business Credit and Banking Considerations for Small Business

Presenter: Bernadette Seda – Provident Bank  

Purpose: Help small business owners understand and manage credit, with key considerations and practical tips for a successful banking relationship

Topics Covered:

  • How to establish and build business credit (and why separating from personal credit matters) 
  • Key factors that impact business creditworthiness
  • Choosing the right banking partner and core financial products 
  • Best practices for cash flow management and maintaining strong banking relationships 

 

5:30 PM -6:00 PM –  Introducing Ignite CDFI and the New Business Champion Program for Small /Micro Business

Presenter:   Chris McHenry – Ignite CDFI / CCEDC

Purpose: Introduce Ignite CDFI, its mission and programs, and how it supports small and micro businesses with access to capital, resources, and guidance.

Topics Covered:

  • Overview of Ignite CDFI: mission, services, and target businesses 
  • Key features and benefits of the New Business Champion Program 
  • Types of support available (financing, technical assistance, mentorship) 
  • How to apply and access these resources 

 

6:00 PM – 6:30 PM: Unlocking Financing for Small Businesses: SBA Programs and Beyond 

Presenter: Colleen Barth / Tom Dowling  – Pursuit

Purpose: Provide an overview of various financing options, with a focus on SBA programs and practical steps to successfully secure capital.

Topics Covered:

  •        Overview of SBA loan programs, eligibility requirements, and key considerations 
  •        Comparison of traditional vs. alternative lending options 
  •        Tips for preparing a strong loan application and approaching lenders 
  •        Additional resources and programs for small businesses
