OSHA: Employee Training Requirements

What are the OSHA requirements for employee training? Each company is responsible to train their workers and temporary workers.

What do the OSHA standards say? In this session, OSHA representative, Mark Harmon will dive into the regulatory language and answer those questions.

Most OSHA standards have a training component for employees, some even require annual retraining. As an example, OSHA gets this question a lot from companies. “My company has a forklift; can any employee operate it”? “They all have a Pennsylvania driver’s license”. The answer is: “Not until they have proper training according to the OSHA standard”. We will discuss these training issues and many others, during this informative webinar.

Speakers:

Mark Harmon, Compliance Assistance Specialist (CAS), Federal OSHA Erie Area Office

David M. Yanoschick Jr., CSP, SHARP Outreach Coordinator, PA OSHA Consultation Program, Indiana University of Pennsylvania
